Jeff Cohen's new book Cable News Confidential offers readers a rare behind the scenes look at the 24 hour cable news world.Cohen describes his experiences at CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC. He offers many personal stories, which were always engaging and often quite humorous. They painted a clear picture of how conservatives control and frame the news we see on cable. While I have read many other books on this subject, I have never seen a book that offers as many crisp, clear examples of the way today's cable news industry operates.

Extratestrial Contact is real!!!
I thought Dr. Greer did a good job of organizing the various types of evidence supporting Alien interaction with our world. From scientists to engineers and really a complete cross section of our society and its abilities to observe the hidden world of Alien interaction.

Quickly settles disputes, answers questions, a "MUST" for all home care nurses & their management teams !!!!

great insight
Imagine the U.S. was occupied by another country. Then, a third country, one that purports to value democracy and freedom, comes along to liberate us. We back them up and tolerate the installation of political cronies and corporate hacks in exchange for some kind of freedom. Then, this country, instead of installing a true democracy, installs a ruthless dictator and, if it is a democracy, is only a shadow one.And then the country continues this policy for 50 years, all the while claiming it supports freedom and democracy.
Insights to Iran
This is a fine read; well written and quite enlightening.It should be required reading for high school history/economics students.Also, the subject leads to dynamic discussions for book clubs.

Not for all special needs situations, but helpful
The methods in this book detail considerable sacrifice of parents time and resources devoted to one child; in a multiple child or two-working parent household, this would not be as beneficial and produce results as claimed from Floor Time program.Also, there are many types of special needs children with needs not addressed in this book.While overall helpful and a must-read for involved parents, continue seeking assistance from local programs and teachers/therapists, and use this as one small part of your reading list.This book does not address all the needs of all special needs children, but it is helpful and gives detailed explanations and plans to begin with.We have four special needs children with four separate diagnoses, so we are not first time parents, nor is this book the definitive program or resource for any of the four.Read it, try it, then continue researching and resourcing!

An Absolute Must-Read for Parents with Autistic Children
Our 20-month old son was diagnosed by two separate agencies (one was South Carolina's Department of Disabilities and Special Needs) in August of 2005. We had fought for some sort of diagnosis since he was about one year old, due to SO many issues we saw that were not present with our first children.

It's hard to really review a book on Floortime because you're not discussing the book so much as the techniques behind it. As a speech therapist, I got into this method because it mirrored my basic instinctive approach to and ideas about therapy.

In this extremely short work, Benard seeks to structure a design that will allow for better interaction between the West and the Islamic world. Thanks so much for this book about Jesse Jackson. Jesse Jackson is for himself. He has exploited Black people and used them for his own good. Where ever there is a cause he's present. Not so much for the sake of those involved, but more or less for his own benefit. It's ashame that he has to speak for the common good of man for a fee. Before he speaks he wants to come to a payment agreement. He uses Black people. A Black problem is his gain. Black people please get hip. Jesse Jackson is a pimp in the worse way. He pimps and profits from Black problems.
A Great Book about a complete Fraud!

If the Abacha/Nigeria/Abiola story revealed in this book is fact, Mr. Jackson should be jailed for the part he played in Abiola's death. Concerning the son, if a congressman earning $26,000 owns 5 cars worth $300,000 it proves the truism that the apple does not fall far from the tree.

What an unlucky country
This is a superb book and at 738 pages it is a long read and full of information and facts but if the reader can stick it out it is well worth it. Plenty of notes and an impressive bibliography ensure the reader it has been well researched.

Solid advice from a true believer
I carefully read the first edition of the book approximately 7 years ago.Though I didn't perceive at the time that I had a need for "invisibility", I adopted several of the recommendations in the book simply because they made me feel more comfortable.I was subsequently harrassed by a disgruntled former employee.At least one overt act of his was thwarted by my privacy measures.How many others, I'll never know.Every bit of energy and money I'd invested in my privacy was paid back and then some.
Excellent book on Privacy Techniques!
This is an excellent book on privacy techniques.What I like about it is that JJ Luna discusses various levels of privacy, and I have found that the more privacy you want, the more time/effort you will have to go through to maintain it.He talks about how to go about receiving your mail, where to choose to live, how use the phone, how to pay people, and how to title assets more privately.I like this book because JJ Luna does not try to force a one size fits all agenda upon people, but lets the reader decide on what level of privacy is right for them. There are varying levels of privacy which can be obtained for each one, depending on your circumstances (e.g. family, job, etc).Of course, the more privacy you want, the more you will have to sacrifice, but most of these techniques are simple and won't take too much extra time out of your week.

THEEnergy Book Of Our Times
A while back an old sage once answered an economical question I had with this, "An economy based on WASTE". But he said it with a disgust I never quite understood. UNTIL NOW.And it is in book form, written by a very skilled writer, Edwin Black (eight Pulitzers and two National Book Award Nominations). Researched to an nth'degree, 19 pages of acknowledgements!. Many, many fascinating tidbits such as the word car that started out as horseless carraige to carraige to car for short. Or the red flag laws where a man had to run ahead of the car waving a red flag & blowing a horn to warn all in the cars path. It loaded with interesting stories and facts you've never heard of. The story about GM destroying the mass electric transit/cars in the U.S.- is alone worth the price. Very well written and informative, as in: "A century of lies about internal combustion arising from a millennium of monopolistic misconduct in energy has wounded the world's collective health, fractured a fragile enviroment, and ignighted a deadly petropolitical war that has become nothing less than a cataclysmic clash of civilizations." Or,"Internal combustion kills.Few of us realize that as we drive to non-smoking restaurants, everyone around us is inhaling gases as deadly as that in any cigarette". Or, "The implication was that in the thirties and forties, at a time when GM was undermining American transport and urban mass transit, the bus and auto giant was doing all in its power to enhance Reich transport".Or, "The single most fuel-inefficient undertaking on earth is arguably the heavily armed military convoy escorting oil tanker trucks in Iraq.More petroleum is undoubtedly consumed to protect the delivery than is carried in the tanker itself".Or that 'it takes 1.29 gallons of petroleum or petroleum equivalents to produce one gallon of ethanol'.(The Brazilians use sugar cane in a different process that is self sustaining and is explained in detail.) The author follows mankind from thousands of years ago to now as he continually misuses energy.He goes into the alternative energy sources: ocean thermal, geothermal, wind and solar, nanosolar.He devotes a whole chapter to hydrogen.His depiction of Honda's FCX hydrogen car is very very cool. In conclusion, the author stresses, there needs to be a public policy that excercises "sane" stewardship over energy and those who control it. A very informative and instructive read of the energy crisis that we as mankind face today. Highly recommended!!!!

Edwin Blacks Book could change the world-for the better
This book is an amazing expose of how power corruption and money took our country from using energy renewable resources to being an oil guzzing, air polluting and terror funding entity. This book shows how we got off the track of uning battery and electric energy sources, in order to support the economics of the middle east and the oil barons who profited from our use of fossil fuel.
Black is back with another gem!
This new Black gem is typical Edwin -a boldly written page-turner brightly illuminating past misdeeds and miscreants as an important lesson for the future. This book didn't have to be this difficult
I am a joint law student/international affairs masters student.Surprisingly, after a year and a half of law school, I have never had a textbook as difficult to read and understand as this one.The authors take complicated ideas and make them even more complex.
A Decent Overview
This text seeks to combine a standard IR Theory reader with a IR theory general text. In its first endevor, this book excels. The texts chosen are from among the leaders of thier fields and are summerized clearly and cogently by the editors. In its second task, however, this book fails quite notably. The text written by the authors regarding Realism, Pluralism, and Globalism is poorly written and to broad to be of much use, although thier description of realism is far better than thier description of the others. I would reccomend this book only because of the excellent collection of articles found within. For a general IR theory text, I would look elsewhere.

An Excellent Graduate Level Textbook
Kauppi and Viotti's work gives a comprehensive comparison between the contending theories of International Relations. Each section is followed by key readings which helps clear any misunderstanding and introduces to the student some of the finest texts supporting each perspective. Truly informative, great book. Extremely Helpful
Within my firts three years of sobriety I read this along with the second and third year edition.They were extremely accurate and helped me to deal with the trials and tribulations of sobriety at the time.I would recommend these titles to anyone who desires to be knowledgable and gain understanding about the process of recovery they are engaged in.

What to Expect from Sobriety
I found this to be a very useful addition to AA literature for people who are making their first serious attempt at getting sober and staying sober.The author understands the challenges that alcoholics/addicts face and presents interesting case studies of people who have faced the struggles and the victories of a newly sober person in this crazy world. YES!
For all who want to read a no holds barred critique of how the West simpers and grovels before the tower of political correctness read this. For those who say that is to harsh, I just watched today on the news that The London Star has just pulled a parody of itself because it might offend some Muslems. Never, never, never would a newspaper think of doing that for anyone else. As for the guy who trashed it after admitting he hadn't read it Huh? Nuf said. This should be required reading in every classroom in Europe and the U.S. It is time the truth is yelled from the rooftops as Fallaci does so well. One piece of advice, read it straight through in 1 sitting (it will take 4 or 5 hours) I wish I had. I think you will feel the full force that way. By the way, as it is wrong about the entire book so is Publisher's Weekly wrong about her translation. She explains it in the beginning ( they must have missed that part ) and it makes it all the more real, as well as reminding us that she is writing to Italians which I forgot occasionally.

I have been a fan of Oriana for the last 30 years. Her objectivity, fairness and compassion has impressed me when reporting on Vietnam, Mexico City, her interviews with History, her letter to a child never born.
Publishers Weekly has a distinct bias of its own
A forceful and emotional "sermon" - we see ourselves in the looking glass through the words of Fallaci.Laughably, Publishers Weekly declares (in a statement thoroughly fearful and utterly dripping of politically correctness - exactly what Fallaci chastizes us for) that the book "will not sit well with American readers".Such utter rubbish from Publishers Weekly... If you think we're not facing a war for the soul of this nation and you want to sit around the campfire and sing happy songs and hold hands, then please, by all means, have at it.

Quite Shocking!
This is quite shocking of how the mafia is able to buy off members of both major political parties in the U.S. along with other Western nations such as Israel.I would also recommend reading Double Cross about Sam and Chuck Giancana the two mafia bosses whom had the Kennedys in their pockets.

Inciteful and Highly Readable
A real eye-opener. Friedman writes about some pretty ruthless, cruel people. I don't know how the author could have possibly obtained all the information that he did; he is a brave man. I hope he's still alive, and will be amazed if he is, given the nature of the people about whom he has written. Friedman describes Russian Mafiya types operating in Toronto, near to where I live -- very unnerving. Mind you, if you live in NYC, Miami, Denver, San Francisco or Los Angeles, you are not alone...

Great Information.
Friedman has done the public a service by this book.It renews my faith that there are a few, albeit an extremely small number, jews who will tell the truth.
