good but a little overrated - should be 3 and 1/2 stars
Okay, at one time (in earlier editions) this was a great book, but it has become outdated.It is still good, but it is not the best.I gave it 4 stars, but I would really have given it a 3.5 if that had been an option.
Good book, but a little dated and choppy
I bought this book before starting up my new law practice because it's one of really only two good books on opening a law office, and this one seemed to have the most praise.
It was all that I expected it to be.
The book arrived on time, infact a day earlier than I anticipated. It was in excellent shape, cover crisp and shiny and didn't seem like it had been used at all. Surprisingly, it was delivered right outside my apartment door. I have purchased other books through amazon before, but none were personally delivered to me.Out of all the purchases through amazon, this exceeds all in quality for my money and efficiency in delivery. ... Excellent Supplement
I just finished my Contracts final, but I will not blame my grade on this book.
Excellent Aid!
The charts in this book are what makes it so effective and helpful.Once again Gilbert's has provided law students with a great teaching aid and exam study guide.The questions in the back are very good, but beware 1L's in your first semester not having all of the information necessary to fully answer the questions.

This got me through my evidence exam
Very good book on the subject, the best I've encountered in regards to Evidence and the FRE.I scored very well on my exam, despite slacking throughout the semester and skipping most of the readings.This book made the difference for me, and for a few of my friends who also got copies before our test.

No Surprises Here
Adkisson and Riser are beacons in the darkness that is labeled asset protection. This book, and the attitudes it sets forth towards asset protection (when that term may be discretely used) are the de facto standard of care and woe be to the professional who believes otherwise. I say there are no surprises because the book is the embodiment of the professional, real life anti-scam viewpoint in this area Jay Adkisson has come to represent. Do not ignore the fact most of these five star reviews are by attorneys like myself who see the aftermath of so-called asset protection, off-shore entities and third world trusts. Don't miss it.

A "must read"!!
I have practiced estate planning, with an emphasis on asset protection planning, for many years. This book's explanation of various asset protection techniques, many of which I have used in my own practice, is both lucid and thorough. Not only will experienced practitioners find the book to be an invaluable source, but beginners too will discover a text that is highly readable and easy to understand. I am confident saying that Asset Protection spans "the universe" of such techniques, with both analysis of the fundamental "building blocks" of the area and coverage of more advanced methodologies. Apart from its useful content, I also found the format of Asset Protection to be particularly straightforward, starting with its discussion of the basic concepts of asset protection and its goals, as well as ethical considerations, proceeding to cover many trusts currently being employed in sophisticated estate planning, and ending with a thorough discussion of entities that should play a part in many sophisticated estate plans. In sum, for beginner and practitioner alike, this book is a "must read"!!
The Bible for "Legitimate" Asset Protection Techniques

A good gloss on Dressler's casebook
This book isn't going to change anyone's life, but it is well written. It's also the perfect complement to Dressler's casebook, providing much more indepth analysis and notes than the casebook. As grizzled vets of past law school exams will tell you, it is frequently the notes and squib cases that fact patterns on exams are drawn from. If you can recognize those fact patterns instantly and have a pre-digested analysis ready to go, you will be at a distinct advantage in the exam sweepstakes.

Wonderful review book
This book explains all of the basic concepts of criminal law in a clear, intelligent manner.His explanations were so clear that I could easily incorporate them into my outline, even though the guide was not keyed into the assigned casebook.I used this book to study for my crim law exam.My professor wasn't very well organized, so I really did not feel very confident about the exam before using this book.This book helped me get one of the highest grades in the class.
Keyed to DRESSLER Casebook - Good treatise
DRESSLER is heavy in political correctness and Model Penal Code and is also anti - Common Law tradition, and anti-anything to do with moral principles - hence the recurring theme of "Legality". However, if you can get past all that - & if you are using the DRESSLER Casebook - this treatise is keyed to it .. Also, His Audio lecture on CD-ROM is also keyed to the casebook. Outstanding and comprehensive coverage of estate planning.
The book is so clearly written, with explanations followed by simple examples.It covers every aspect I could think of, with occasional advice that you could do this yourself, or sometimes that you really need a lawyer.If you have a substantial estate you will probably want to have an expert do the work.But you should read this book so you know what the expert is doing (or you could pay the expert $200-300 an hour to educate you on basics).Simply the best book Ihave read all year.

Just read it
Given the sales rank of this important volume concerning Islamic jurisprudence, evidently more English-speaking readers are investigating the serious matter of Islamic values than I previously believed. And considering the appalling rise in the numbers who believe America attacked itself on 9/11--or that its war on terror only produces more of the same--that is very good.
An invaluable resource for MUSLIMS, of the Shafi'i school.
My title says all you need.1000 pages of rulings, NOT PROOFS, based on the compound work of many well know Shafi'i scholars, along with ALOT of extras. The author makes it clear there is still another book yet untranslated with the proofs. The original arabic text is next to the english, plus explanations from contemporary scholars(not just the translator), though admittedly the explanations are limited. I am not going to be the one to pick apart the holes in all the uneducated, hate-filled, pro-western reviews, though I could.I just hope it doesn't turn people off who are simply looking for the correct way to pray. If that is the case I recomend Al-Maqasid first.Read the older pre-911 reviews, including a review from Sh. Nuh.

Excellent resource, but guidance was helpful
Teachers and the Law (6th Edition) was the primary text used for my National-Louis University (Wheeling, IL) School Law course. Although the text implies that only information regarding teachers will be discussed, Fischer actually covers legal issues that deal with many levels of educational law including student cases, administrator cases, and even cases that don't involve teachers at all, but loosely relate to educational law in general.

I received the book in good shape.The cover looked next to new and there were very little marks or highlights in the text.

Case law, unless done perhaps by the likes of John Grissam, is not page turning material.However, the authors have done an incredible job of putting very pressing and often complex areas into an accessible and engaging book.Written in an easy to use question and answer format, the updated book touches on education legal issues ranging from free speech, to students with disabilities, to internet issues.While of great use for educator (or educators to be), the book could also easily be adapted for classroom use, either as a debate or research starter.Worth every penny of its price. ... What a cleaverly crafted book
I'll tell you I never had so much fun reading a book. It nearly brought me to hysterics of laughter. I was laughing so loud it made me cry. Superb mix of prose and gentle words of comfort. I tell you, if you don't go out and purchase this book right now you're going to loose out. I heard that the price is going to jump here real soon. Dr Gesell really knows how to put in plain English the complex world of Airport security. It just makes me sick to think it took this long to discover his writing. Excellent supplement to the Hillman/Summers Casebook
This hornbook makes reading the case book very, very easy.It summarizes all of the concepts from their textbook in a simple and concise manner.I highly recommend reading this book and staying afew pages ahead of your assigned text reading.

Excellent prepatory book
I bought this and used it heavily through Contracts, and found it took be a very good supplement to the casebook.It covers the main issues in very good detail, but cannot be trusted as a single source for contract law of course - a short book could not be expected to do that.

Good study aid. He didn't cover some topics iwith the same detail as my professor, but what he does cover is presented in a concise and clear manner. I also enjoyed his perspective on contract law, for example the way he organizes the material and the examples he uses to present the ideas. Overall I'm glad I read this as part of my exam preparation.
