Drake's 1st Review
The book is all I expected it to be. There is no record of picking up the first book from the shipper. However after a report to the shipper, the follow-up book came in due haste. The photo illustrations are a little hazy, but the text explains in detail the procedures required to replace and or repair parts of the Porsche Boxster. Models for various years are covered in sequence as one reads the text. The Amazon price was right and cost less comparable to other sources. A good book, and a great car.

Absolutely HORRIBLE manual
******One-star is NOT LOW ENOUGH******* 1991-99 Ford Explorer Repair Manual
In section 6 the information for the windshield wiper motor is not applicable to my 1996 explorer.Also, there is no information about how to remove / replace the windshield washer spray nozzles.Or how to remove the cowling along the base of the windshield.

Chilton's has lost touch with reality.
I purchased this book for needed factual, accurate information of which I got neither. I wanted to replace the lower ball joints on my '99 Ranger, so I bought this book. Take note: on page 8-4 it states specifically that the 1998-99 Ranger does NOT have coil springs. This of course is hogwash as my '99 most definitely has coil springs. In addition, it states on page 8-8 that the ball joint is an integral part of the lower control arm. This, too, is complete hogwash. Please be advised that this book is RIFE with erroneous information - including any pictures contained therein. I have lost all faith in Chilton's ability to present the correct information on ANY automobile. ... Read more

very happy

Great Introductory Book on Welding
I found this to be the best introductory book on welding that I have seen.Quite of few books give you spotty pieces of information and tell you to "go do it."Others are pricy text books designed for a full school course on welding.This is a straight comprehensive introduction to welding.It starts you off with safety, materials needed to start work and the advantages and disadvantages of each major type of welding.Richard Finch has a smooth writing style and includes good suggestions and advice, including common amature mistakes to avoid.I would have given it 5 stars, but it was last revised in 1997 and some information about equipment is getting dated. ... Army Corps Of Engineers camp ground Modoc, SC
Just returned to Florida from three days at Modoc,SC Strom Thurman Lake and Dam. The Campground was everything the guide said it was. We were more than pleased and no complaints. We look forward to utilizing the guide again and hopefully soon...

Gold mine
This book really is awesome. Sure it doesn't list every campground out there, but the book is already the size of a major city's phone book, so it lists the best ones. I love the rating system because it gives each campground separate 1-5 star ratings whether camping with a tent or in an RV. Extraordinary detail and excellent tips, but so far I haven't seen any altitudes given, which would have been useful.

Amazing

would not recommend
we are in the logistics business and I reviewed this book as a potential teaching tool for management. The book is unfortunatley of little to no value. Most concerning is that the mathematics for inventory management, a critical factor in understanding logistics, are simply wrong. Even a quick look by anyone familiar with inventory management would find this concerning.

This book has been dramatically improved in the 7th edition
The book takes the reader progressively from the most simple concepts to the complexities of logistics. It is true that this is not a quantitive book, but it is a very conceptual and didactic logistics book with many cases and graphs. An internet site provided by the publisher with transparencies, internet site references, and other supports to this book makes it an excellent tool. Great Book, Keep your computer with you!
The book's content is excellent!I have found it to be very useful for quickly getting up to speed on the topic.The book is sectioned into logical parts and does a great job providing reference material to allow anyone to become familiar with the GPS in a short period of time. GPS text book without any equation
1- The first thing is that you can read the book from the beginning to the last page without any difficlties. GREAT BASIC REFERENCE
If you are a geodesy expert looking for a mathematical treatment of GPS theory, look elsewhere (there are several good books). If you are looking for a good collegiate-level descriptive text, this is a great choice. Clear, concise, and with all the latest info including WAAS, RTK, and similar topics. Very good
I am a train fanatic and I know a good reference book when I see one,and this book is one of the best I've ever seen.I have refered to this book at least fifty times at the railroad (whose name is undisclosed) that I work as a volunteer at.Simply an amazingly informitive book that I would recomend to any train fan of almost any age.

Large book but has some short comings
The book is a fair to good encyclopedia of trains.It has a large number of foreign engines.Most of the photos are taken from the front and one side and not in profile.The Little Joe appears to be a A-unit but is in fact an A-unit on both ends.The pictures are not very large.Profile drawings would be a good addition.Read more

Good Fundamentals Book by a Talented Writer
This is an excellent book for the modern fundamentals of aircraft control design. Most subjects are clearly treated with just the right amount of illustrations and examples. The author makes good effort of explaining procedures without resorting to function calls from some software package. The last of the book devotes relatively little space to modern control theory. I would hope this talented writer would create something more advanced in the future that would expand on his treatment of the state observer and the use of the cost function.

An excellent introductory book. Highly readable.
The best aspect of this book is the simplicity in the exposition of ideasand concepts while giving more than enough information for an introductorybook. Fully worked out examples are frequent throughout the chapters andhelps even further in getting good grasp of new materials. If the readerhas taken introductory courses in Vibration and/or Feedback Control, thebook should be an easy read.The book is roughly divided into two parts:The flight dynamics part and control part.In the flight dynamics part,the explanation smoothly leads the reader from equation of motion to theconcept of stability derivatives and how they relate to dynamic stability.The derivatives are very well explained and then summarized in tables for aquick reference.In the control part, the author starts from the classiclinear feed back control and proceeds to the modern state space method andintroduces optimal control design using linear quadratic regulator.Thecontrol part is an amazing time saver. I have never seen a more efficientintroduction to optimal control as applied to aircraft dynamics. If thereader wants a full fledged treatment of optimal control of aircraft, thematerials presented here are far from enough, but as an introductory book,this is an excellent exposition that lets the reader get to pace quicklyand have straight forward perspective on the subject. Although there weresome blatant typos, it is an excellent work and I highly recommend thebook.

A lot of info on aircraft control in a small textbook.
I found this textbook to include a large amount of concisely presented material on all aspects of aircraft stability and control and feedback control system design. It covers everything from the atmosphere, to development of forces and moments and equations of motion, to estimation ofstability derivatives, analysis of dynamics and modes of motion, and handyreduced degrees of freedom. It also includes many examples of designingautopilots and stability augmentation systems. I really liked the exampleswhich included both classical and state variable methods. Each chapter alsohas several interesting example problems. I would recommend this text foranyone in the field of aircraft or missile flight controls. The onlydissappointing aspect of the text is what I consider an excessive number oftypographical errors. I would caution anyone not to use the equations orformulas without first checking the derivation. The derivations are clearand concise enough that the reader should be able to find these errors. ... The Michael Jordan of Motorcycle Racing....except.
This kid is a moto god!He still has fun and unlike all the pro sports stars I know has no agnet or lawyer.Cares nothing for money.....who would at 29 million a year.He is funny, and focused, crazy and driven.At 50 he'll still be a kid which I think is what we all want too.This book makes you want to ask yourself the question "What if I never tried?"

Straight into the mind and heart of the Valentino Rossi we know and love
This book brings us straight back to his days as a child, a teenager, and a motorcycle racer.. A great read into what goes on in his mind, although some of his life's choices that were mentioned seems a bit too forceful or unreal; perhaps a bit fake.. but again, he is a world champion and world champions have a record of knowing what they want to do from a young age.

Timeless Classic
I acquired my first copy of "Handling the Big Jets" during my university days when studying aeronautical engineering (at Loughborough University of Technology, Leicestershire, England) in the early 1980s. This was an excellent reference book then on handling jets as it covered all the major topics that I needed comprehensively, in simple and easy to read language and explanations.
Definitive aircraft manual
Despite its age, this is still the definitive book on handling jets. Comprehensive coverage of the widest range of topics, and to the deepest depth needed to satisfy any technical enquiry. Davies has an unmatched writing style that is highly readable, and right up there with the likes of Bill Gunston. If you prefer reading fiction more than textbooks, then this book is just about as readable as fiction.Read more

100 Years of Aviation
I am 12 years old and I found this book to be very informative. Though it is written on an adult level, it is easy enough for a preteen to follow. It gives extensive history on planes from the birth of flight to the present.I highly recommend this book.

WOW !!!
I bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift, and when it came today and I saw the quality and beauty of this book in person, I immediately went back to Amazon and bought two more for my Father and Father-in-Law.This book is a steal at that price and it is huge!Jam packed with gorgeous photos and a LOT of reading to go with the pictures.The book would be treasured by anyone interested in the subject and by far the best one they will ever own.If I think of any more men they will probably get one too!!

A Luxury
There are many pictorial histories of flight available (I can't imagine an all-text history of the same subject), but this one has to be the jewel in the crown.True, there is not much on the pre-flight days of Leonardo and baloons and weird contraptions that crashed into the marshes.But the rest is a sheer delight for the eyes and compiles enough information to make it more than just a collection of pictures.Pretty much anything DK Publishing does is first rate, sometimes a bit too polished for my taste.But this is a perfect vehicle for the DK Publishing magic touch, and they pull it off extremely well. Acomprehensive and thorough book
Myself and my colleague are both currently final year civil engineeringstudents at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa and have beenusing this book for the past year.
